Countdown to Election Day!

The next Dubuque County Treasurer should have more than just a title.

They should be the V.O.I.C.E of the community and the people that they serve!

V

Veteran

I proudly served 8 years in the Marine Corps.  I was fortunate enough to lead Marines in combat, receiving the Operation Iraqi Freedom medal in 2006.  On top of learning leadership skills during my military service, I also learned what selfless service means.

O

Oversight

The only way to provide proper oversight is to have the background necessary to see potential errors.  Having worked in the financial industry since 2018, I work with businesses on a daily basis understanding and reviewing tax documents and financial statements.

I

Integrity

The County Treasurer should be one of the most reliable and respected offices within the county.  With your vote, together we can make the County Treasurer office just that, reliable and respected.

C

Commitment

My commitment is to the people of this county.  My military, teaching, and banking background are all roles that required commitment to succeed.  I will take on the role of Dubuque County Treasurer with the same heart felt commitment. I want to ensure that the Treasurer's office is providing exceptional service to every person that visits the office and I am committed to running an effective office.

E

Experience

With my banking and financial background, proven leadership in managing personnel, and an unwavering desire to serve the people of Dubuque County, I am the experienced and qualified leader that this office needs and deserves.

My name is Michael Clasen, and I am the most Qualified Candidate for Dubuque County Treasurer

My life experiences and career path have prepared me to successfully lead Dubuque County as the next County Treasurer.  I was born and raised in Dubuque County and am a graduate of Western Dubuque.  I returned to Dubuque in 2006 after spending 8 years in the Marine Corps and serving overseas in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.  My time in the Marine Corps gave me the ability to work well under pressure, leadership skill sets that can't be taught outside of the Marine Corps, and a drive and determination that led me to a desire to serve my hometown in a greater capacity.  I believe that education is a powerful tool and in 2017 I had the honor of graduating with a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Dubuque.  This higher education compliments my current role as a Commercial Banker at Dubuque Bank & Trust.  I have been teaching at the University of Dubuque as an adjunct professor since 2018, instructing students in Principles of Micro-economics, Principles of Macro-economics, and Principles of Management.  My desire to give back to the community doesn't end with my desire to be the next Dubuque County Treasurer.  I currently serve as the Board Secretary for SASC (Substance Abuse Services Center) as well as on the Business Advocacy Committee through the Dubuque Area Chamber of Commerce.
